On July 20th join Friends of Freethought, and a variety of Southern California freethought/skeptic/atheist groups, for their first ever summer Freethought Picnic in Fullerton at Ted Craig Regional Park from 11am to 3pm for an afternoon of food, fun, and friends.

Join Friends of Freethought in helping keep our beaches clean.
Several times per year Friends of Freethought joins the Huntington Beach/Seal Beach chapter of the Surfrider Foundation to clean our local beaches. This is a free, fun, and easy way for freethinkers to get together for a little sun and exercise while helping out in the community.
A Letter from David Redmond, Board President
In his 2013 year end letter Friends of Freethought Board President, David Redmond, talks about FF's first year and the organization's plans for 2014. "Hello, As 2013 comes to a close I'd like to take a moment to look back at how far Friends of Freethought has come in the last 12 months. At the end of 2012 Friends of Freethought didn't exist. A group of friends and I had just held a Winter Solstice fundraiser to benefit the 2013 Orange County Freethought Alliance conference to be held May 4th. Our group then went on to hold Think & Drink, another fundraiser to benefit the same conference. When all was said and done, we'd raised $1,600 to donate to the conference..."
Fullerton Market Outreach
Friends of Freethought is planning to host a public outreach booth at the Fullerton Market every Thursday evening from April to October, 2014. We'll be there to provide the public with positive interactions with freethinkers, as well as to seek out fellow freethinkers who don't know about us.
Volunteer at the Orange County Food Bank
Join Friends of Freethought for the 11AM-1:00PM shift at the Orange County Food Bank in Garden Grove on Saturday, February 8, 2014. You'll get a free workout lifting boxes, sorting food, packing boxes, and/or whatever else the food bank may want us to do that day. You'll also get the satisfaction that comes with helping those in need.
El Faro Orphanage Trip to Tijuana, Mexico
Periodically Friends of Freethought volunteers take a trip to Tijuana, Mexico where they spend time playing with orphans and help to prepare and serve lunch.
Typhoon Haiyan Relief
Friends of Freethought wishes to express our profound sympathy for the grave humanitarian crisis in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Haiyan. As we watch the stories unfold and gaze at the horrifying images of devastation and suffering; we'd like to contribute by mobilizing our generous freethought community towards action in the spirit of compassionate secular humanism.
Vamp Fest for Camp Quest
Freethinkers and skeptics gathered for a scary night of good fun in support of a great cause!
Friends of Freethought fhrew a Halloween party fundraiser, and we split the proceeds 50/50 with Camp Quest West!
Meet & Greet & Eat
Every fourth Monday of the month a Friends of Freethought board member hosts Meet & Greet & Eat during happy hour at a local venue of their choice. This is a great occasion for existing members to chat and new members to get to know us. If you haven't joined yet, but are curious about the group, this is the event you should come to.

Friend of freethought, Kent Martin, was a recent guest on the Ask an Atheist radio show in Tacoma Washington. Kent and hosts Sam Mulvey and Rebecca Friedman discussed Ray Comfort, the Catholic church takeover of hospitals, and the Southern California freethought community including Backyard Skeptics and Friends of Freethought.
